CovalAb: Antibody Engineering

CovalAb has been founded in 1995 by Dr Saïd El Alaoui and Dr Vincent Thomas as a spin-off of the University of Lyon (France).
Thanks to its know-how in immunology, the CovalAb’s team comes-along and finalises every day several projects for Academic research teams and private companies.

CovalAb has then acquired an expertise in the fields of health, environment and agro-food which has awarded an international recognition of the company.
The activities are focused on the antibody engineering and more precisely on the custom services.

  • Custom antibody development (polyclonal and monoclonal antibodies)
  • Monoclonal antibody production
  • Peptide synthesis
  • Antibody purification and labelling
  • Solid phase fonctionalisation (Beads, plates, ..)
  • Detection kits development
  • Immuno-affinity support development (Columns, beads…)

Some of novel and innovative products and activities have been developed in response to the requests of clients or as off-shoots of fundamental research projects carried out in collaboration with researchers, others, as a result of Covalab’s own research projects. These have led to (1) the filing of patent applications (2) CovalAb’s intellectual and practical participation (not simply as a supplier of reagents) in many publications and conferences organisation.

The successful completion of its own in-house research programmes now permits CovalAb to offer potential clients its recently improved know-how in custom antibody services and novel antibodies which are of valuable tools for research, diagnosis and therapeutics.
